WonderCon 2017 Souvenir Book, T-Shirt Design Revealed

Conventions are a lot of things to a lot of people – maybe you attend for exclusives, maybe for the panels, for the cosplay, and so on – but there are a few aspects which have an impact on every attendee. One of those is the free Souvenir Book, the program that’s handed out to all attendees, so that they have a cool memento of the event, a guide to everything the convention has to offer, and a valuable resource.

Comic-Con International has just unveiled the design for the WonderCon 2017 Souvenir Book, as well as the artwork for this year’s t-shirt. This year’s design is from special guest Michael Cho, and features Silver Age superheroes Rip Hunter, Time Master, Supergirl, Green Arrow, The Flash, Black Canary, and J’onn J’onzz.

In addition to Cho’s t-shirt design, there will also be two more WonderCon shirts featuring the WonderCon Anaheim logo – those shirts are yet to be revealed.

While the program will be handed out to attendees during badge pick-up at the Anaheim Convention Center, the t-shirt with it’s exclusive art will only be for sale at WonderCon 2017 (presumably at the Graphitti Designs booth). Fifth Wave of Guests for San Diego Comic-Con 2017 Announced

We know, okay? You want badge news. But first, we’ve got some news on Special Guests.

The Toucan Blog has shared the next round of Special Guests headed to SDCC 2017:

• Gemma Correll • Cartoonist, The Worrier’s Guide to Life, A Pug’s Guide to Etiquette
• Jonathan Maberry • Author, Joe Ledger Thrillers, Mars One
• Alex Simmons • Writer, artist, Blackjack
• Joe Staton • Cartoonist, Dick Tracy, E-Man

Special guests typically receive a special “Spotlight” panel during the convention, so attendees have a chance to hear their favorite authors and artists speak live.

According to CCI, they’ll announce additional guests next Monday – so keep your eyes peeled for more exciting announcements. You can also catch up on tons of other things and people who will be at San Diego Comic-Con in our Under the Tents updates.

Here’s a look at the news you might have missed:

• Our friends at The Ninjabot will be at WonderCon Booth #2044, where you’ll also be able to grab some free swag. Keep an eye out for updates.

• Comic book and graphic novel publisher Zenescope will be returning to exhibit at WonderCon this year, according to their convention schedule.
• The good people of Tee Turtle – who make some of the cutest t-shirts around – will be exhibiting at WonderCon Booth #1945/#2145 this year, according to their convention schedule.

• Many of you know them from San Diego Comic-Con, but Gallery Nucleus will be exhibiting at WonderCon for the first time this year, at Booth #2101. They’ll have exclusive releases, appearances, and more – so stay tuned for more updates.

• Graphic artist Kate Carleton will be making WonderCon a little extra wonder-ful this year, as she’ll be randomly dropping Disney art sketches around the convention. Stay tuned to her social media for how to score one, but from her Twitter, here’s a sneak-peek at several of the pieces.

‘Outlander’ Returns to San Diego Comic-Con in 2017

While you probably still don’t know if you’re attending San Diego Comic-Con this summer, we’ve got our first official confirmation of a TV show that will be in attendance.

Today, in a joint press release from Starz and Sony, Outlander was confirmed that its 13-episode third season will premiere in September – and that fans will first get a chance to get hyped for the upcoming season at San Diego Comic-Con 2017 where they’ll be “offering fans a chance to experience more of this beloved series in person”.

Outlander skipped out on last year’s convention due to production schedules, so fans of the series should be excited to see the series return this year.

In 2015 – the last time the series appeared at San Diego Comic-Con – stars Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan were in attendance, as well as executive producers Ronald D. Moore and Maril Davis, and author Diana Gabaldon. While no further details are available yet for 2017, we’d expect a similar turnout.
