Parks and Cons is on the ground in San Diego right now – and the city is very slowly undergoing a (re)-transformation to all things San Diego Comic-Con.
Although last month, banners for Marvel’s Doctor Strange went up around the city, it was a bit premature – as we still had to get through the MLB All Star game. So down came the banners, and up went the baseball ones.
But now that baseball is over, the city is slowly going to be morphed into wall-to-wall marketing for San Diego Comic-Con 2016. The wrap on the Marriott Marina is already being removed, soon to be replaced by something. Workers are also busy pulling up other remnants of the All Star game.
There are still some signs that the con is close though. The Hilton Bayfront has had Son of Zorn wraps up for a few days, the trolleys are all decked out for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Dead of Summer, Conan, and more. Game of Thrones also has some banners up around the city and on buses.
We’ll keep you updated.
