Kevin Smith Brings His Heavy Hitters Trading Card Series to SDCC

If Kevin Smith has proven anything to us, it’s that he knows comic books and movie trivia. He brings his knowledge of both media forms to SDCC this year thanks to Comixology’s trading card set.

This year’s third and final set features what they call “Heavy Hitters” – comic book writers and artists who have influenced Smith most throughout his career. According to EW, the Heavy Hitters cards will feature facts about the subject (works known for, base of operations, etc.) and are then followed by a fun little factoid. For example, Jim Lee’s Heavy Hitters card mentions that Lee studied medicine at Princeton before abandoning the field for a more artistic career.

Smith’s Heavy Hitters series include Laura Allred, Becky Cloonan, Geoff Johns, Jim Lee, Emma Ríos, and Bruce Timm. You can find them along with the rest of this year’s set at Comixology’s Booth #2547 at SDCC.
